Not Games: We Are the Strange

I stumbled across this trailer while trolling YouTube for Borat and Japanese game shows.

We are the Strange appears to be a home-grown animated feature with more than a few video game influences. The official site pitches the flick as "Monsters, Inc. meets The Nightmare Before Christmas inside a retro Japanese video game." If that's not enough to sell you, how about chiptunes from Noboru Morishige, Snoopdroop, Rushjet1, TSR, Nullsleep, dotdUmmy, Anonymouse and M dot Strange on the soundtrack? Does the involvement of comic book artist/painter David Choe further intrigue you? If the "I hunger!" sample from Sinistar that I heard in the trailer doesn't do it for you maybe we should spend some time apart.

Official site.
